Vault User Commitment

Last Updated: 18/03/2025

At Firevault, privacy is not a setting—it’s the foundation of our service. By using FireVault, you agree to a legally binding commitment designed to ensure absolute data security, digital sovereignty, and long-term protection. This commitment guarantees that your vault remains entirely in your control, inaccessible to third parties, and governed by strict security policies.

This Vault User Commitment sets out the terms, responsibilities, and legal protections surrounding your FireVault storage, ensuring compliance with UK data protection laws and cybersecurity best practices.

1. Your Vault. Your Commitment.

By activating a FireVault, you enter into a mandatory minimum 3-year agreement, ensuring uninterrupted and uncompromised security.

Key Terms of Your Commitment:

  • A Fixed 3-Year Term – Your vault is secured under a legally binding three-year commitment, ensuring continuous data protection.
  • No Early Termination – Users cannot exit their contract before the end of the term, except in cases of legal breach or specific conditions outlined in compliance policies.
  • Auto-Renewal Option – If no termination notice is provided 90 days before the end of the term, your contract will automatically extend by 12 months for ongoing protection.
  • Storage Device Transfer Upon Exit – When your term ends, FireVault will securely send your storage device to a designated address, with the user responsible for delivery costs.

2. Your Data. Your Responsibility.

FireVault provides the highest standard of security, but users are responsible for managing their access credentials and complying with data storage policies.

What You Can Store in Your Vault:

Legal & Personal Documents – Wills, trusts, insurance policies, and contracts.
Financial & Business Records – Trade secrets, corporate filings, investment details.
Security Credentials – Private encryption keys, authentication tokens, and certificates.
Medical Data – Personal health records and sensitive documentation.
Backup Archives – Encrypted offline storage for secure data retention.

What You Cannot Store in Your Vault:

Illegal Content – Child exploitation material, terrorism-related content, illicit trade documents.
Cybercrime Tools – Hacking software, malware, ransomware deployment files.
Data Violating National Security Laws – Classified government materials, state secrets.
Stolen or Fraudulent Information – Identity theft records, unauthorised financial data.
Weapons-Related Schematics – Blueprints for restricted firearms or explosives.

🔴 Any violation of these terms will result in immediate termination, and, where legally required, reporting to the relevant authorities.

3. Security, Compliance & Identity Verification

To maintain unparalleled security, Firevault operates under strict identity authentication and compliance policies:

  • KYC & Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) – Vault access requires strong identity verification and MFA uniquely tied to the user.
  • No Recovery Mechanisms for Lost Credentials – FireVault cannot reset access unless explicitly verified under predefined security protocols.
  • Legally Appointed Successors Required – Users must designate a successor to manage data in the event of incapacitation or death. If none is assigned, the vault is permanently destroyed to prevent unauthorised access.
  • Compliance with UK Data Protection Laws – FireVault follows:
    • UK GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)
    • Data Protection Act 2018
    • National security and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) regulations

4. Privacy Protection & Legal Compliance

FireVault operates on a zero-trust model, ensuring your data is protected from external access, surveillance, or misuse.

No Monitoring. No Oversight. No Backdoors.

🔒 FireVault does not access, track, or monitor stored content.
🔒 No government, corporation, or third party can gain access.
🔒 The only exception is a legally binding UK High Court order, under which FireVault will transfer the vault directly to the legal authority.

🔥 If a vault is seized for legal investigation, FireVault is not responsible for data loss or integrity. Once an investigation is completed, it is the responsibility of the legal authority to return the vault to the user.

5. Exiting Your Vault Commitment

At the end of the three-year term, FireVault ensures a secure transition process to maintain long-term digital security.

  • Vault Delivery Upon Term Completion – Your vault will be sent to your nominated address via a secure courier, at your cost.
  • No FireVault Liability for Unclaimed Data – If the user does not claim the vault within a designated period, FireVault reserves the right to securely decommission the storage device.
  • Users Must Pay Any Remaining Balances – If a user chooses to terminate access before the term ends (where permitted), all outstanding balances must be settled in full.

6. Efficiency Without Compromise

Unlike cloud-based solutions, FireVault is designed to minimise energy consumption while ensuring uncompromising security.

  • Fully Offline & Air-Gapped – Your vault is only accessible when activated, eliminating cyber threats.
  • Optimised Power Use – Engineered for low-energy, high-security storage, ensuring continuous protection without excess operational costs.

7. Legal Protections & Governing Law

FireVault upholds the highest legal standards in protecting user privacy, security, and data integrity:

  • Challenging Unlawful Data Requests – FireVault will legally contest any data access requests that do not meet strict legal requirements.
  • No Compliance with Mass Surveillance – FireVault does not participate in bulk data collection or third-party monitoring.
  • Jurisdiction & Dispute Resolution – This agreement is governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any disputes will first be handled via arbitration before formal legal proceedings.
